The Frankenstein Project was designed by Prof. Lisa Yaszek as a way for students to pursue advanced research in the Bud Foote Science Fiction Collection at Georgia Tech.

After an initial round of interviews with Prof. Yaszek, select students were invited to draw up project proposals and apply for university research funding or credit hours to support their projects in the 2003-2004 academic year. In addition to pursuing their individual projects, members of the Frankenstein Project have collaboratively developed two venues to showcase their research findings.

The first of these is the Frankenstein Project website, which will become a permanent part of the Bud Foote Collection’s online presence. The second is a multimedia exhibit that will be displayed in the Georgia Tech library from March 17-April 30. Combining materials from this website with rare books from the Bud Foote Collection, this second project will be a featured part of Frankenstein: Penetrating the Secrets of Nature, a six-week event co-hosted by the Georgia Tech Library and the American Library Association.
